One Horse Ghost Town

by The Gunsmoke Sinners

/
1.
Step outside and search the skies for any sign Beads of sweat soak through my shirt and roll down my spine The fading sun burns through my eyes and through my mind Staring out across this wasted land to see what I can find Looking for a way So that I can say Just remember me. The moonlight shines above, an accusing eye I feel the heat of a million tears I know I’ll never cry The wind is howling at my back, screaming out your name And still I walk this world alone where death is just a game Where is yesterday So that I can say Please remember me
2.
It’s almost time, and the sun is sinking low The destination is in my blood and I’m telling you we’ve got to go. Going out of my mind but I’m taking it slow And I need you by my side, so we’re heading on down the road. Sit tight, I’m gonna drive by the fading light My mind is shifting into overdrive and you know I see better at night I hear a sound like a dog that’s about to bite And even though you fear that the end is near, everything is gonna be alright. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the world. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the line. I can see strange shapes in the darkened skies Bodies floating in a sea of darkness in the space behind my eyes Now the road is an endless wave of flies As the corpse of the moon appears and it slowly starts to rise. In the end there is nothing left to drive (to drive). On the back of a beast of fear he’s the only one left alive With my navigator sitting here by my side (My) skin is crawling from the inside out and I know he wants to ride We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the world. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the line. Limbs crashing on the shores below while the clouds begin to fall Dust choking as the winds arise and the demons start to climb the wall What you want and what you need … well, there’s nothing you can buy Pandemonium strikes the land and you know we’ve got to fly. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the world. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the line. We’ve got to fly… my navigator and I… to the end of the world
